Wonderful Election in Rabun County

It was another successful election in Rabun County on Tuesday, May 24.  There were no problems with the primary locally, says Rabun County Elections and Voter Registration Director Tammy Whitmire.  “Rabun County had a 37.45% voter turnout for the May primary.  On Election Day, we had 1,942 people come and vote.  Advanced voting finished up with 2,301 coming to vote and then absentee mails that were counted was 316.  So, a total of 4,559 people here in Rabun County cast their vote.  I thought everything went wonderfully and I’m so proud of the Rabun County Election staff, all the poll workers, the Election Board, and everybody who participated.  It was a wonderful election.”  To see the unofficial results of the Primary Election, visit the Secretary of State’s website at www.sos.ga.gov.  Election results must be certified statewide by May 31.
