Winter Weather Contact List

As we enter into the coldest months of winter, the Rabun County 911 Center wants to remind everyone to have a list readily available of the emergency contact numbers for the utility companies that serve your house.  Also be sure to have a working flashlight handy and prepare for any upcoming bad weather by having an ample supply of medicines, non-perishable foods, heating fuel, batteries, and if you are on home oxygen be sure to plan with the company that provides it.  Utility companies want the customer to call to report outages.  During bad weather, the 911 center is extremely busy handling emergency calls.  Please do not call 911 to report power outages or to find out when power will be restored or to check on road conditions.  Power company outage numbers for Rabun County include Georgia Power at 888-891-0938, Habersham Electric Membership Company at 706-754-2114, and Haywood Electric at 800-951-6088.  For any other numbers that you don’t have, you can dial 411 for directory assistance.
