Wilkinson Seeking Re-Election

Speaking of elections, Senator for the 50th district, John Wilkinson, has announced that he has qualified, and will run for re-election in 2016.

Wilkinson currently chairs the Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee, as well as the Vice Chairman of the Education and Youth Committee. He was recognized as the “Policymaker of the Year” by the Georgia Association for Career and Technical Education, and was presented by the Association of County Commissioners of Georgia, the legislative service award in 2015.

Wilkinson was elected by special election in 2011. He represents the 50th district, which is made up of Rabun, Towns, Habersham, Stephens, Franklin, and Banks Counties, as well as portions of Hall and Jackson Counties.
