Wildcats host Wolverines in 1st Round of Playoffs

It’s the first round of the state A playoffs tonight, November 11, 2022, for the Rabun County Wildcats, as they host the Dade County Wolverines at  Frank Snyder Memorial Stadium.  The Wildcats are 10-0 on the season and the Wolverines are 6-4.  Rabun County High School Varsity Football Head Coach Mike Davis says this game is all about surviving and advancing.  “They’re better than 6-4.  They had a really, really good quarterback, I mean a really good player and he broke his collarbone two weeks ago so they are going to be without him.  But they are very tough, hard-nosed kids.  Offensively, they are going to give our defense just tons of formations and if we don’t have great eye discipline and we’re not in our gaps then we are going to have a tough night.  Then defensively, they’re a 4-3, cover-2 team.  They stunt a lot and you know where they’re going to be but it’s a matter of just blocking.  They have big, strong kids.  So, we just got to go out and play Rabun County football.  Protect the football.  We’ve got a 1-0 mentality, we’re trying to go 1-0 every week and we’re trying to survive and advance, that’s what it is all about.”  The Rabun County High School varsity football game kicks off at 7:30pm tonight, November 11, 2022.  If you can’t make it to the game, you can listen to it on Sky 96.3.
