Wildcats Close Out Season With Hard Fought Loss

Wildcat PawThe Rabun County Wildcats left everything on the field tonight in the second round of the playoffs. The Cats took control early scoring a field goal in the first minutes of the game, and took an extremely tough and talented Benedictine squad to halftime only down 14-3. The Benedictine Cadets proved to be just a little to much for the Cats to handle in the second half as they began to build on the lead quickly, despite the Wildcats fighting as hard as they possibly could all the way to the final tick on the clock. The Cats did find the endzone in the 4th quarter to bring the score to 35-9 before the Cadets scored once more to give a final of 42-9. Coach Shaw commented that he couldn’t be more proud of his team, adding that he loves each one of them, and will truly miss the seniors who played their last game tonight at Frank Snyder Memorial Field. The Wildcats had an incredible season, bringing Rabun County a Region 8-AA Championship;playing with strength and heart through every single play of every game, and giving everyone in Rabun County something to be proud of. Congratulations to all the Wildcats, the players, the staff, the cheerleaders, the band, and to Coach Shaw on an amazing season that will never be forgotten here in Rabun County. GO WILDCATS!
