Westminster Man arrested for Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor 

A Westminster man stands charged with two counts of criminal sexual conduct with a minor in the first degree, reports the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office. 22-year-old Nicholas Michael Ungaro was booked into the Oconee County Detention Center around 6pm Tuesday. Ungaro’s bond was denied on both charges. The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office investigation began Monday after a deputy spoke with a family member of the victim’s in regards to reports of a sexual assault. The deputy then notified a Violent Crimes Investigator with the Criminal Investigations Bureau. The Department of Social Services was also notified. Based upon evidence that was gathered during the investigation, it was determined that Ungaro had sexual intercourse with two separate victims, who are both children, according to the arrest warrants. According to the arrest warrants, one incident with one child occurred on Sunday, February 11th while the other incident, with the other child, occurred on Monday, February 12th. The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation. Due to the nature of the crimes, and in order to preserve the integrity of the investigation and that of the victims, who are both minors, the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office will not release any information that could, in any way, either directly or indirectly, identify either victim in this investigation.
