Watch out for Flooded Roads in Rabun County

Motorists are encouraged to slow down and watch out for flooded roads in Rabun County.  The Rabun County Road Department announces that the 300 block of Bear Gap Road, Jim McCrackin Road, Warwoman Road at Earls Ford, and Murray’s Cove Road just before the boat ramp are closed due to flooding.  On Sunday, Georgia Power opened five gates on Mathis Dam so please do not try to drive on Shady Lane.  Please use caution when traveling, if you see a sign or some type of road barricade it is there for a reason.  Please do not drive through flooded roads because you do not know if the road was damaged or even completely washed away.  The Rabun County Road Department will continue to work on all the roads that need attention this week.
