Walhalla Man arrested for Forgery from Walmart

A Walhalla, South Carolina, man stands charged with one count of forgery in the first degree.  The Rabun County Sheriff’s Office reports that 42-year-old Gregory Leon Shelton was arrested on Jan. 26, for attempting to purchase merchandise with counterfeit money from Walmart in Clayton.  The arrest report states that he allegedly attempted to pass off $220 in $20 and $10 bills at checkout. Eight $20 bills and three $10 bills were collected. Shelton was served with a criminal trespass notice from all Walmart stores nationwide and booked into the Rabun County Detention Center on the felony charge.
