USDA-NRCS announce Next State Technical Committee Meeting

The USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) in Georgia will host two meetings of the State Technical Committee this month via teleconference on May 14 and 21, both from 9–11:30am Eastern Standard Time. Coordinates for the teleconferences will be provided to those who pre-register for the meeting by emailing [email protected] by close of business two days before each meeting date.  The state technical committee meeting allows Georgia citizens and representatives of organizations and agencies the opportunity to provide natural resource-based input that will guide the delivery of NRCS programs within the state. During the meeting, NRCS and Farm Service Agency (FSA) staff will provide updates on Farm Bill programs, and participants will have opportunities to offer suggestions regarding future implementation of programs.  A complete meeting agenda, when available, can be found by visiting https://www.nrcs.usda.gov/wps/portal/nrcs/main/ga/technical/stc/agenda/. If agendas aren’t viewable right away, please check back for updates.  Please direct questions about these meetings to Katura N. Wright, assistant state conservationist for programs, at (706) 546-2272 or [email protected]. Those unable to participate in the State Technical Committee meetings are encouraged to have a representative listen in their place. Anyone needing an accommodation to participate in these meetings should contact Janice Lester at (706) 546-2272 by May 12.  NRCS provides leadership in a partnership effort to help people conserve, maintain and improve our natural resources and environment. More information on NRCS conservation programs can be found at https://www.farmers.gov/ or https://www.ga.nrcs.usda.gov under the Programs tab.
