Two Wrecks on Halloween in Rabun County

Deputies of the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office worked two wrecks on Halloween, October 31, 2022, in the county.  At 12am, a deputy was dispatched to Burton Dam Road to investigate an abandoned vehicle on the side of the road.  The deputy found a 2007 Toyota Camry unoccupied with the front of the vehicle impacted into a hill on the roadside and the fender on the right front side separated from the vehicle.  The vehicle was towed from the scene.  At 7:05am, a deputy was dispatched to a vehicle wreck on Highway 197 near Black Goldmine Road and found a 1993 Toyota pickup off the roadway that had collided with a tree.  The driver stated that he was coming around the curve, drove onto the grass, lost control, went off the road, and collided with a tree.  No one was injured in the single-vehicle collision and the vehicle was towed from the scene.
