Two People arrested for Felony Shoplifting from Walmart in Clayton

Two people stand charged with felony theft by shoplifting from the Walmart in Clayton.  The Rabun County Sheriff’s Office reports that 30-year-old Taryn Michelle Walking Eagle and 37-year-old Gary Len Sequoyah Jr., both from Cherokee, North Carolina were arrested on Feb. 4.  A deputy was dispatched to the store and on the way was advised that suspects were loading stolen TVs into their vehicle.  While en route, the deputy was advised that the vehicle was observed heading north on Georgia 15.  A traffic stop was initiated on the vehicle in the parking lot at Walgreens.  The loss prevention officer from Walmart came to the scene and told the deputy that the couple had stolen 19 TVs from the store in the past week for a total cost in excess of $6,000.  Both of the suspects admitted to stealing TVs from Walmart and were arrested and then transported to the Rabun County Detention Center.
