Two Crashes in Rabun County

The Rabun County Sheriff’s Office recently responded to two motor vehicle accidents.  The first occurred on Aug. 30, at 2:55pm on 76 East off Coffee Road. According to the motor vehicle crash report, a 2005 Chevy Equinox slammed into the rear of a 1993 Dodge Dakota as the Dodge was attempting to make a right-hand turn into its driveway.  The 16-year-old driver of the Chevy told the deputy that she slammed on her brakes when she noticed the Dodge was turning but could not stop in time. Fortunately, no one was injured in the two-vehicle accident. The second accident happened on Sept. 1, at 2am on Persimmon Road at its intersection with Lookout Ridge.  A 22-year-old driver of a 2015 Dodge Ram 2500 was traveling south on Persimmon Road when the vehicle left the roadway. The driver then over-corrected and ran off the roadway, struck an embankment, rolled over, and came to rest on the wheels. The driver was not injured in the one-vehicle accident.
