Two Crashes blamed on Heavy Rainfall

Two crashes in Rabun County are being blamed on heavy rainfall. The Rabun County Sheriff’s Office reports that on December 9, 2023, at 9:05am, the driver of a 2010 Dodge Challenger lost control after hydroplaning on Georgia 15 at its intersection with Goat Mountain Road and went off the road, hitting a sign and sliding down the grass into a ditch. No injuries were reported. On December 9, 2023, at 9:48am, the driver of a 2006 Toyota Camry hit a patch of water on Georgia 15 and skidded off the road, hitting a ditch causing the vehicle to roll. No injuries were reported.
