TSPLOST Collection underway in Rabun Co.

On April 1, 2022,  all businesses in Rabun County began collecting the additional 1% Transportation Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax or TSPLOST.  Rabun County Board of Commissioners Chairman Greg James explains what this additional tax revenue will fund in the county.  “Single county TSPLOST is essentially a sales tax and it is used to fund capital outlay projects for transportation purposes.  TSPLOST, which stands for transportation SPLOST of course must be used for transportation purposes, which means roads, bridges, public transit, and all infrastructure and services necessary to provide access to transportation facilities.”  So, with the TSPLOST now underway, this means that you will pay 4% state tax and 4% local tax for a total of 8%.
