Traffic Stop leads to Two Arrests

On March 8, a deputy of the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on the Wiley Connector after observing a 2007 Acura TSX cross over the center double yellow line multiple times.  The deputy spoke to the driver, 49-year-old Candace Renee Wheat of Clayton, and asked her to perform some field sobriety tests.  After failing those, she was arrested for driving under the influence of drugs and failure to maintain lane.  The deputy also arrested a passenger in the vehicle, 39-year-old Tiffany Felice Young of Rabun Gap on a warrant for theft by deception.  Both women were transported to the Rabun County Detention Center for booking.
