Traffic Delays on HWY 76 West

Georgia State Patrol says speed was not a factor in the wreck that caused a semi-truck to flip taking out a section of the guardrail on Hwy 76 west earlier last week in front of the Clayton Municipal Complex. The GSP report states that a load-shift was the primary cause of the accident.

The section of guardrail damaged was approximately 200ft long and the state plans to replace the entire 600ft section

which is no longer up to state code. The DOT warns travelers of 76 west that weather permitting the construction will cause delays throughout Tuesday and Wednesday during daylight hours.

The cost of the repairs will not be known until construction is complete.
