Town of Tallulah Falls has Work Session and Council Meeting Tonight

The Town of Tallulah Falls holds a work session and regular council meeting tonight, Aug. 8.  Tallulah Falls Town Clerk Linda Lapeyrouse gives details. “Tonight at 6pm, we will have our work session where we will be talking about the Comprehensive Plan that we are working on as well as the Future Land Use Map.  For the regular council meeting, which starts at 7pm, under New Business, we have a presentation by Phylecia Wilson for a Little Free Library to be located in the town where people can pick up and drop off books for everyone to use.  We also have the Rabun SPLOST XIII; we’ve closed out our public safety project and there is a need to move the remainder of that money to our water system improvements that were also approved under that SPLOST, so the council will be discussing that transfer.  Then there is an application to upgrade equipment on the T-Mobile Tower located at Tallulah Falls School, so we will be reviewing that application. We also have a building use item and that is for several outdoor sheds and buildings that are being cleaned out and revitalized to reuse, so we are trying to determine exactly what purpose will be used for each of those buildings and we will hear from our department heads on those needs.  Finally, we have a zoning amendment, which is to address camping in certain zoning districts, so we are going to be looking at in addition to what is allowed now also adding authorized campaign at churches and at property owned by the State Park.” Both meetings are open to the public and take place at 255 Main Street in Tallulah Falls. Once again, the work session starts at 6pm with the regular council meeting to follow at 7pm.
