Time running out to register for Citizens Academy

Time is running out to register for the 2022 Rabun County Sheriff’s Citizens Academy, says Sheriff Chad Nichols.  “The Academy is for participants who wish to learn about the Office of the Sheriff and how it impacts the lives of citizens and those visiting Rabun County. During the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office Citizens Academy, participants will learn more about each division of the Sheriff’s Office and other areas of the Judicial System. The K-9 teams and handlers will make guest appearances. You will learn how they train during the class and the purpose of meaningful work in the community. Participants will tour the Rabun County Detention Center and speak with Captain Darnell and visit where the inmates are housed. This will be your opportunity if you have always wanted to learn more about criminal investigations. You speak to some of the lead Investigators about the steps to working a crime scene and they will provide answers to questions about the process.”  Classes start on Tuesday, April 12, 2022, and will be held every Tuesday night through June 7, for nine weeks.  If you’re interested, come to the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office at 23 Courthouse Square, Suite 301, Clayton, GA 30525, to complete a quick and easy free registration process or call 706-982-4237.
