Tiger Man arrested for Obstructing Officers

A Tiger man stands charged with obstructing law enforcement officers after an incident on Georgia 15 at the intersection of Camp Creek Road in Lakemont.  The Rabun County Sheriff’s Office reports that on August 14, a deputy was patrolling Georgia 15, got behind a 1999 Mercury Mountaineer, and observed the vehicle failing to maintain lane by hitting the fog line.  The deputy initiated a traffic stop on Camp Creek Road, but when the vehicle came to a stop the front seat passenger, 25-year-old Nate Reese Davis of Tiger, jumped out and started running.  After a foot chase, the deputy deployed his taser and Davis fell to the ground.  He was arrested for obstructing law enforcement officers.  Davis told the deputy that the reason he ran was that there was a warrant for his arrest.  The driver of the vehicle was given a verbal warning for failure to maintain lane and released.
