Three Weekend Wrecks in Rabun County

Three wrecks were reported in Rabun County over the weekend.  The first occurred on Highway 28 North around 4pm on Saturday, July 13.  The Rabun County Sheriff’s Office reports that the driver of a 2010 Harley Davidson Fatboy motorcycle was traveling around a curve in the road and hit some slick stuff causing him to lose control.  The driver laid the motorcycle over on its side and skid to stop. The driver was taken to Oconee Memorial Hospital by Rabun County EMS. The second auto accident also occurred on Highway 28 North around 4pm on Saturday, July 13.  Deputies report that the driver of a 2013 Harley Davidson Heritage Softail was coming around a curve and then pointed at the roadway where it was not smooth due to the road being worn down and said that a slick spot caused him to lose control, laying his motorcycle over.   The third accident occurred on Wolffork Road around noon on Sunday, July 14. According to the incident report, the driver of a 2008 Canam Spyder was traveling south on Wolffork Road when one of his tires dropped off the right side of the roadway. The driver told the deputy that he was unable to correct and his vehicle left the roadway and struck a ditch, then turned over and came to rest on top of him.  The driver was taken to the Mountain Lakes Medical Center for treatment of his injuries.
