Three Vehicle and Animal Collisions reported in Rabun County

Deputies with the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office report three recent vehicle and animal collisions in the county. On December 6, 2023, at 9:47pm, the driver of a 2023 Hyundai Tucson was traveling south on Old Highway 441 when it struck a bear. The bear fled the scene after being struck and the vehicle sustained disabling damages. No one was injured in the crash. On December 7, 2023, at 5:40pm, the driver of a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling south on Georgia 15 when it struck a deer. No one was injured in the crash. On December 9, 2023, at 2:15pm, the driver of a 2007 Ford LGT was traveling west on Georgia State Route 2 and struck a deer causing disabling damage to the vehicle. No one was injured in the crash.
