Three Recent Wrecks in Rabun County

Deputies of the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office worked three recent wrecks in the county.  On September 14, 2022, at 11:35pm, the driver of a 2016 RAM 1500 swerved to miss a deer on SR 28, left the roadway, and struck the side of an embankment.  The driver was transported to the hospital for suspected minor injuries in the single-vehicle collision.  On September 16, 2022, at 4:20pm, a 2018 Volvo XC60 pulled out on Georgia 15 at Mountain City Road and struck a 2013 RAM 1500.  One person was transported to the hospital for injuries sustained in the two-vehicle crash.  On September 16, 2022, at 5:05pm, the driver of a 2015 Freightliner truck thought he had enough clearance to pull under the carport to a business on Lake Vista Drive in Clayton but the box truck hit the building and busted the sprinkler system to the building causing damage to both the building and the vehicle.  No one was injured in the single-vehicle collision.
