Three Recent Wrecks in Rabun County

Deputies of the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office recently worked three wrecks in the county.  The first happened on Jan. 6, at 9:43am at the On the Run gas station on U.S. 441 North in Rabun Gap when a 2002 Ford SRW Super Duty truck struck a gas pump with its front bumper, the driver got out to check the damage, and then quickly left the scene.  The damage to the pump was estimated at $1,500.  The driver was identified and located by a deputy where he was given a citation for failure to report an accident resulting in damage.  The second crash occurred on Jan. 8, at 3:42pm on Lake Rabun Road when a 2007 Volvo S80 drove into an embankment.  No one was injured in the single-vehicle collision.  The third wreck took place on Jan. 10, at 7:40pm on Persimmon Road when a 2011 Nissan Frontier was trying to turn around and went off into the embankment.  No one was injured in the single-vehicle collision.
