Three Recent Wrecks in Rabun Co.

Three motor vehicle crashes were recently worked by deputies of the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office.  The first happened at 12:31am on Jan. 19, on Lake Rabun Road. The driver of a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado stated that he ran off the road down an embankment and flipped his vehicle.  The driver, 25-year-old Austin Ramey of Tiger, was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol. The second crash occurred at 6:55pm on Jan. 19, on Germany Mountain Road. The driver of a 2015 Chevrolet Sonic told the deputy that a deer ran out in front of him, he swerved to miss it, ran off the road, and struck a tree.  No one was injured in the single-vehicle accident. The third wreck happened at 11:25am on Jan. 28, on Lake Rabun Road. The driver of a 2005 Chrysler Town and Country said that she was having issues with her front driver’s side wheel wobbling and caused her to run off the roadway and when she corrected she went into the other lane and struck a 2013 Toyota Tacoma head-on.  No one was injured in the two-vehicle collision.
