Three Felony Thefts under Investigation

The Rabun County Sheriff’s Office is investigating three recent felony theft by taking cases in the county.  On July 5, a deputy spoke to a Rabun Gap resident about a mail theft involving a $250 Galaxy phone that he ordered online and had shipped to his address on Yorkhouse Road but it never came.  He called the company and it said it needed a police report to replace the phone.  On July 7, a deputy spoke to a Tiger resident in reference to the theft of a full-size deep truck toolbox valued at $500.  On July 9, a deputy was dispatched to the Outdoor Flea Market in Rabun Gap in reference to the theft of a firearm.  A woman said that she walked out of the bathroom and over to the next building when she noticed that she had forgotten her Smith and Wesson Bodyguard .38 Special.  The gun is valued at $650.  The deputy entered the gun as stolen into the Georgia Crime Information Center.
