TFS Girls’ Varsity earns Third Straight Win

Tallulah Falls School (TFS) Athletics reports the TFS varsity girls basketball team won over Prince Avenue Christian on the road in Friday night region action, which equaled a three-game winning streak.  The Lady Indians routed Prince Avenue, 53-34 on the road to run their win streak to three games. The girls jumped out to an 18-9 lead in the first quarter and spread the gap to 36-15 going into the halftime break. Katy Corbet had a monster first quarter with eight points, including a 3-pointer. It was sophomore Veronaye Charlton who stood out in the second with a 10-point effort. Prince Avenue outscored TFS 11-9 in the third, pulling within 45-26. Both teams scored eight in the fourth, as the Lady Indians came away with the 53-34 win.  Charlton led all scorers with 17 points, while Denika Lightbourne dropped in 14 and Corbett eight. Iray Adeleke and Barrett Whitener both finished with five, while Abby Carlan and Kailyn Neal had two apiece.
