TFS Girls and Boys take Road Wins at Athens Christian

Tallulah Falls School (TFS) Athletics reports the Lady Indians earned a second straight win with a Tuesday night 67-24 victory at Athens Christian.  TFS saw four players score in double figures and nine total players score points in the win.  It didn’t take long for TFS to take a commanding lead, going up 18-5 after just one quarter. Katy Corbett nailed a tray and another bucket to score five in the quarter, and a 19-point second quarter for the Lady Indians equaled a 47-13 halftime lead.  The third quarter saw more of the same for TFS, as the girls tallied 18 more points to Athens Christian’s 11. Veronaye Charlton scored six in the fourth as TFS held the opponents off the board the rest of the way, earning the 67-24 win.  Charlton led in scoring with 15 points, while Corbett and Denika Lightbourne both dropped in a dozen. Kailyn Neal contributed with 10 points, while Macy Murdock had nine in the win. Abby Carlan posted three points, while Molly Mitchell, Iray Adeleke, and Barrett Whitener each had two points.  The Lady Indians are now 10-4 overall and 3-1 in region competition. TFS returns to the court on Friday night at Prince Avenue Christian.  The #10-ranked Indians edged out Athens Christian on Tuesday evening on the road, winning 42-36. For TFS, it marked an eighth straight victory and kept the boys undefeated within the region.  TFS was led by Sammy Davis and his 12 points. The Indians are now 5-2 in games away from Tallulah Falls, and move to 11-2 overall and 5-0 in 8-A Private. They return to the court on Friday at Prince Avenue Christian.  Photos by Crump Photo.
