Teen charged with reckless driving after injuring 9

According to a report from the Georgia State Patrol, a teenager has been charged with a slew of reckless driving charges following an afternoon crash that left nine passengers in critical condition.

The wreck occurred when a 16-year old female, driving a 2009 Kia Borrego (SUV), took a curve too fast and fishtailed off the left side of the road. The vehicle came to rest after skidding down an embankment coming to a halt after crashing into a tree.

The GSP has not released names of the driver or her nine passengers but an investigation is ongoing.

The driver has been charged with driving too fast for conditions, seatbelt violations and reckless driving. Although, more charges are likely to come about upon conclusion of the investigations.

All 10 individuals were injured and transported to the Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville for medical attention according to the GSP.
