Tallulah Falls ends Five Game Win Streak

Brian Carter, Director of Sports Communication and Digital Media at Tallulah Falls School (TFS) reports that TFS, ranked #9 in the state, fell 70-55 on Saturday in a non-region, top-10 matchup at home against #6-ranked Stephens County. The visitors got out to a 12-4 start in the first and never looked back.  TFS trailed 37-29 at the half, as Macy Murdock hit a long 3-pointer at the buzzer to cut the deficit to single digits. Stephens County then pulled away in the third, going up by more than 20 points in the quarter. Stephens County led 59-38 heading into the final quarter of play. TFS made a jolt with a quick 9-0 run, forcing a timeout but still down 59-47. A big run later got TFS within 9 points before Stephens County pulled away late.  Veronaye Charlton paced the offense with a team-high 22 points, while Denika Lightbourne chipped in with 17 points. Katy Corbett had 7 points, Murdock had 5, and Kailyn Neal 4.  The Lady Indians move to 7-3 on the season, and saw their 5-game win streak end.
