Tallulah Falls Council tables Short Term Rentals and Camping Matters

On advice from their attorney, the Tallulah Falls Town Council tabled two items on their August regular council meeting agenda Thursday night.  The first deals with a moratorium on short-term rentals, explains Mayor Teri Dobbs. “The moratorium for short-term rentals we’ve tabled that and there have been discussions as to should we implement that, so that is what we are going to continue researching.  Should we put a moratorium in place it will not affect any existing licenses that are in place. So, that is something that we will continue to research in single-family, multi-family, and agricultural districts.” The second matter concerns an ordinance to allow camping in certain zoning districts, adds Mayor Dobbs.  “There have been some discussions and concerns about that, therefore we are working and will continue to work to make sure that any ordinance we bring in place will allow a safe haven in churches, obviously will not affect any of the state park or Georgia Power facilities and properties. So, we will continue to look at this.”  Both items are now planned for the Tallulah Falls Town Council Meeting in September.
