Street changes coming to City of Clayton

Two street changes will impact travel around the City of Clayton.  The first change is permanent and involves the intersection of Hamby Street and Church Street, tells Clayton City Manager Cissy Henry.  “The four-way stop on Hamby Street and Church Street that is going to be for public safety. We will put up a stop sign there and the police will patrol it.  So, with the stop signs in place just be cautious. It is congested in that area and just like with anything else in that area just go slow, watch for pedestrians, and obey the traffic rules.”  The second change is temporary and involves the free downtown parking lot behind the post office, explains Henry. “This coming Sunday they are going to be closing the parking lot in hopes to do some maintenance, to do some seal coating and striping to get some additional parking there and make it look nice.  They are going to be closing off the two north end entrances and only have one entrance and exit. So, it is going to be a little different for a while, but it is going to look so much nicer and hopefully, we’ll get a few more parking spaces in there.” Please use caution driving in these areas until the changes are completed.
