Still Time to register for Rec Soccer

The Rabun County Recreation Department announces that soccer registration is still open online without a late fee. However, parents are encouraged to sign their children up as soon as possible, explains Adam Dixon, Athletic Director of the Rabun County Recreation Department.  “If you go online to www.rabuncountyrecreation.com you can still register your child for soccer and we will keep that open online for another week.  We will have our drafts on March 12. Once a child is drafted onto a team then you will start getting calls about practice.  We won’t have games until right after spring break in April. We like to let the Middle School soccer wind down because they play here at the Rec Department and a lot of our 13U children play both Middle School and then they will come to play 13U soccer with us and we want them to do that we want them to get more field time and get better at their sport.  So, that is why we leave it open and we don’t want to turn any kid away.” This is a coed recreational soccer league for kids. The purpose is to promote and develop an interest in soccer among young athletes by learning fundamentals and sportsmanship while competing.
