State of Rabun 2018; an event for all things local and current in Rabun County

RABUN COUNTY — In any community, it is vitally important to stay informed of the most recent happenings in government, education and community. And on Thursday, April 12th the public is welcomed to attend the annual State of Rabun where they will hear from the official leaders who work tirelessly to make Rabun County as we know it today.

The 2018 State of Rabun will take place at the famous Dillard House Restaurant with doors opening at 7 a.m., breakfast served at 7:30 a.m. and an assortment of community leaders who will begin speaking at 8 a.m. to the public about what they are doing to ensure Rabun County remains resilient.

At the State of Rabun, attendees can expect to hear about the latest in the education department from Rabun County School Superintendent Melissa Williams, the condition of the local government body from County Administrator Darrin Giles and upcoming events from Clayton City Mayor Jordan Green. The Keynote Speaker for the event will be Rabun County Athletics Director Lee Shaw who will be briefing the crowd on all things Wildcat.

Tickets will be available for purchase, priced at $10 per person, prior to the event at WRBN/WGHC Headquarters located at 745 North Main Street in Clayton. Tickets will also be sold the morning of the event at the Dillard House and will be required for entry.

All individuals who purchase a ticket will automatically be entered for door prizes which will feature a variety of gift certificates to local businesses who help support the economy in Rabun County.
