SPLOST Vote Today
Early voting has concluded, and the day of the special election to determine whether or not the Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax will continue is here.
Just over one thousand voters came out to the polls during early voting, including nearly fifty absentee paper ballots that have been returned to the elections office.
Elections Supervisor Tammy Whitmire said that the polls opened first thing Tuesday morning.
“We’re starting out bright and early at 7 o’clock, and we’ll be open until 7 o’clock this evening,” said Whitmire. “We want to encourage everybody to come out and vote!”
Whitmire also said that Tuesday at seven is the last opportunity for any paper absentee ballots to be dropped off at the elections office.
There is just one question on the ballot, and the is whether or not to continue the one percent SPLOST in Rabun County.
