Social Media Policy set for vote by Clayton Council

On Tuesday, the Clayton City Council is scheduled to vote on a new policy concerning social media, tells Clayton City Manager Cissy Henry.  “In the past, we have had a couple of Facebook pages, but nothing really that would give a policy to it. So, now we would like to designate the administrator over the Facebook policy and just put some rules behind it for the employees who are going to comment on city business on social media.  So, just having those policies in place with certain rules for maybe even appointed officials, elected officials, along with city employees that would be able to give us an avenue to have an event page or an informational page because everyone uses social media now.” The Clayton City Council meets on Tuesday, Aug. 20, at 4pm in the courtroom of Clayton City Hall.
