Small Fire at Highway 441 Business
A fire at a local restaurant causes some excitement earlier this week.
Chief of the Clayton Fire Department Andrew Green says that just before 1 a.m. on Tuesday morning, the Clayton, Chechero, and Tiger fire departments responded to the Huddle House in reference to a fire.
Crews observed a fire in the kitchen area of the business which was closed at the time, and had to make a forced entry to put out the fire.
Chief Green gave some indication as to what the cause of the fire may have been
“It appears that a vessel containing cooking oil had been left on one of the eyes, and the oil had actually reached the ignition temperature.”
Green said only a small amount of damage was sustained as a result of the fire, and Huddle House was open for business on Tuesday.
