Six Wrecks in Six Days in Rabun County

Deputies with the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office recently worked six wrecks in six days.  The first happened at 7:10pm on June 22, on Georgia 15 at its intersection with File Street.  The driver of a 2008 Jeep Liberty told deputies that a deer ran into the roadway causing him to strike the deer.  The driver was not injured in the single-vehicle accident.  The second wreck took place at 5:10pm on June 23, on Davis Gap Road.  The driver of a 2004 Pontiac Vibe said that when she came around the curve the car started to slide.  No one was injured in the single-vehicle crash.  The third wreck occurred at 8:45pm on June 23, on Highway 441 near Kelly’s Creek Road.  The driver of a 2015 Volvo Tractor-Trailer said that when he left On The Run he closed his eyes for a second and ran off the road.  The driver was taken by Rabun County EMS to Mountain Lakes Medical Center for treatment of injuries sustained in the single-vehicle crash.  The fourth wreck happened at 4:10pm on June 25, on Highway 28 near Warwoman Road.  The operator of a 2017 Harley-Davidson motorcycle said that he lost control of the motorcycle causing him to crash and be thrown from the motorcycle.  The motorcyclist was taken by Rabun County EMS to Northeast Georgia Medical Center for treatment of injuries sustained in the single-vehicle accident.  The fifth wreck took place at 3:55pm on June 27, on Bridge Creek Road.  A 2013 Ford Escape struck a 2018 Chevrolet Suburban in the rear after it had stopped for a downed tree in the roadway.  No one was injured in the two-vehicle crash.  The sixth wreck occurred at 10:40am on June 27, in the Walmart parking lot.  A 2013 KIA Sportage collided with a 2009 Honda Odyssey while backing up.  No one was injured in the two-vehicle crash.
