Sheriff speaks at Grand Opening of Freedom Ministries Lighthouse
On Sept. 14, Rabun County Sheriff Chad Nichols was asked to be one of the speakers at the grand opening for the Freedom Ministries Lighthouse. The Sheriff’s Office and the Lighthouse already partner to provide classes and services to inmates at the detention center. “It is great to have a place in our county that provides resources to those struggling with an addiction and are seeking help and support whether they are in jail or not. From my standpoint, one of the positives about this facility, ministry, and partnership is that relationships are made and strengthened while one may be incarcerated and now they have the Lighthouse and its services upon release in hopes of continuing on a sober path and not return to our detention center in the future,” said Sheriff Nichols when asked about speaking at the Grand Opening.
