Several Schools close ahead of Storm

Rabun County Schools were one of many area school systems to close ahead of the storm on Friday, November 11, 2022.  In a letter to families, Rabun County Schools writes that they have been monitoring the local weather forecast associated with Hurricane Nicole alongside the local EMA.  The current forecast is calling for severe weather beginning Thursday night, November 10, and continuing through mid-afternoon on Friday, November 11. The forecast indicates the possibility of treacherous conditions during morning routes. In order to keep the safety of students and families the top priority, Rabun County Schools will be closed on Friday, November 11, 2022. Twelve-month employees should report to work at 10am if it is safe to do so.  Also closing ahead of the storm were schools in Franklin County, White County, Stephens County, and Banks County as well as Tallulah Falls School.
