SC USFS conduct prescribed burn

On Wednesday, a 1,200-acre burn took place just outside Rabun County in South Carolina.

The burn, prescribed by the U-S Forest Service took place in Long Creek, South Carolina in the vicinity of Damascus Church Road.

Prescribed burns will be occurring more often as warmer weather approaches according to USFS Rangers. The goal of these fires will reduce hazardous fuels like leaf litter and dead vegetation to lessen the threat of wildfire, and also support other healthy forest restoration activities.
