Safety Fire Commissioner’s Office investigating Lumpkin County Fires

Georgia Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King is seeking help to identify the culprit behind two fires in Lumpkin County. The fires occurred at approximately 1:05pm on Monday, November 7, at 102 and 106 Pine Corner Drive in Murrayville.  “At the request of Lumpkin County Fire Chief David Whimpy, we dispatched arson investigators to assist with this case,” said Commissioner King. “Both residences received damage to the outside walls in what have been determined to be intentionally set fires. I urge anyone with information on these fires to call the Georgia Arson Control Hotline at 1-800-252-5804.”  In coordination with the State Fire Investigations Unit, a reward of up to $10,000 is offered by Georgia Arson Control for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for arson.
