Rhapsody in Rabun Tonight

This year’s Rhapsody in Rabun is coming up Monday evening.

The event is to raise funds for the Sid Weber Memorial Cancer Fund, and is nearly sold out. Friday evening is the last opportunity to purchase tickets.

The School and Community Liaison for the Sid Weber Memorial Cancer Fund Frances Wilson said she is excited for this year’s event, and that in ticket sales alone as of Friday afternoon, nearly $100,000 has already been raised.

“We haven’t tallied it all yet, but for sure, we’ll go over $100,000, and hopefully a little over $100,000 will come back to Sid Weber after all of the expenses are paid,” said Wilson. “That will take care of a lot of cancer patients here in Rabun County.”

Wilson says she appreciates the community’s support.

“We just want to thank all of the people who are attending Rhapsody, and there are a lot of people in the community who made contributions even though they were not able to attend,” said Wilson. “We particularly appreciate that.”

The Sid Weber Memorial Cancer Fund serves about 60 families within Rabun County.

Rhapsody in Rabun kicks off Monday night at 6 p.m.
