Respected Journalist leads Lessons in Writing Fundamentals at TFS

Retired community journalist Billy Chism led a discussion on Aug. 16, during a journalism and yearbook class at Tallulah Falls School (TFS), reports E. Lane Gresham, Director of Communications and Media at TFS.  Chism reviewed news writing basics, answered questions, and shared a few stories with students. “Mr. Chism encouraged students to write stories that captured the most crucial aspects of an event, and as they focus on strong quotes, their stories will bring their readers into the moment,” said teacher Elisha Boggs.  Chism started and completed his career in small market journalism, first as a reporter at the Toccoa Record and before retirement as the Editor/Publisher of the White County News. In between, he had a successful career in corporate communications, human resources, and higher education fundraising.
