Residents wearing Masks to pay Bills at Clayton City Hall

Residents have heeded the warnings about COVID-19 and are now wearing masks when coming to Clayton City Hall to pay bills.  They are also following the recent protocol about scheduling an appointment to speak to officials at City Hall, says Clayton City Manager Cissy Henry.  “We’ve had a few people that have made appointments and come to meet with our staff but for the most part, we are very slow.  The ones that are coming in to pay bills are wearing masks and we appreciate that.  We have people who are trying to pay tickets and everything is kind of done through the front office right now, the front foyer.  You are welcome to come in to speak to the receptionist and she will direct you on where you need to go and what you need to do.  But for the most part, everyone is doing their part to keep the virus down.”  On July 21, the Clayton City Council approved an ordinance to close the offices of City Hall to the public; however, the lobby remains open for residents to pay bills. The offices of Clayton City Hall will remain closed to the public until further notice.  If you need to speak with city personnel you are asked to call 706-782-4512 to make an appointment.
