Residents speak For and Against Short Term Rentals in Clayton
The first of three public hearings was held Tuesday night by the Clayton City Council on a proposed new ordinance covering short term rentals in R1 zoning areas. Clayton City Manager Cissy Henry says several concerned citizens shared their opinions with the council on the matter. “We had our first of three hearings on our short term rental ordinance. We did have a few in the audience that spoke for and against it. There are some minor changes to be made that were brought during the meeting. For anyone that is interested should attend the remaining two hearings on Oct. 15, and on Nov. 12, at 3pm.” The remaining two public hearings take place in the courtroom of Clayton City Hall. Once the public has been allowed to comment on short term rentals, the Clayton City Council will draft an ordinance for a vote.
