Recent Wreck in Rabun County

Deputies of the Rabun County Sheriff’s Office worked on one recent wreck in the county.  On July 1, at 10:49pm, deputies were dispatched to Georgia 15 at its intersection with West Boggs Mountain Road to investigate a two-vehicle collision.  While coming off of East Boggs Mountain Road to cross Georgia 15, a 2006 Chevrolet Avalanche pulled out in front of a 1997 Jeep Wrangler that was traveling south on Georgia 15.  The Jeep made contact with the Chevy, striking it in the right rear door and right rear quarter panel.  The Jeep then pushed the Chevy into the stop sign at the Georgia 15 and West Boggs Mountain Road intersection.  After impact with the stop sign the vehicles separated.  The Chevy drove head-on into the guardrail alongside West Boggs Mountain Road and came to rest.  The Jeep spun around and came to rest next to the guardrail alongside Georgia 15 facing northbound.  No one was injured.
