Rec Football Games canceled by Threat of Ian to be rescheduled

While Hurricane Ian did not have the forecasted impact on Northeast Georgia as predicted, it did cause youth football games to be canceled.  Adam Dixon, Athletic Director of the Rabun County Recreation Department says those games will be rescheduled.  “We’re about midway through our football and cheer season and so that’s going well.  We had a huge turnout this time, 87 cheerleaders and probably 120 football players, somewhere in there.  That’s a lot of kiddos for a county our size for sure.  That’s going well.  The weather has been good up until last week, we had to postpone some games, and then looking back may have done that a little early but what can you do?  You have to air on the side of caution and we did that.  We’ve just kind of pushed our season a week longer is basically what has occurred.  No big deal we’ll get through it.”  The rec youth football regular season will now be extended one week to reschedule the games missed due to Hurricane Ian.
