RCWSA hears General Manager’s Report for November 2022

This week, the Rabun County Water and Sewer Authority (RCWSA) heard the November 2022 report from General Manager Brendan Thompson.  “The November 2022 ending balance on the RCWSA Operating Bank Account is $85,070.81.  For the South Water System, the November 2022 Water Bill has been delivered to the City of Clayton.  The unit rate is $3.37/1,000 gallons beginning on July 1, 2022. The water bill amount is $108,450.10. Please note that the billing methodology agreed to by contract between RCWSA and the City of Clayton was implemented on August 1, 2019, and terminates on September 30, 2024.  The Lake Rabun WTP pumped to distribution system volume for October 2022 was 38,298,000 gallons. Pumped to distribution system volume for November 2022 was 33,602,000 gallons; a decrease of 4,696,000 gallons or -12.3% from October 2022 to November 2022.  The pumped-to-distribution system volume for November 2021 was 37,763,000 gallons; a decrease of 4,161,000 gallons or -11.0% from November 2021 to November 2022.  The City of Clayton’s November 2021 billing volume was 35,335,417 gallons. The City of Clayton’s November 2022 billing volume was 32,181,039 gallons. A decrease of 3,154,378 gallons or -8.9%.  Customers’ November 2022 meter readings were done on November 23, 2022. Bills were sent out on November 30, 2022.  There were no new taps for the month of November 2022.  The unaccounted-for water volume for the month of November 2022 was 3.75%.  For the North Water System, the Little Tennessee WTP pumped to the distribution system for October 2022 was 14,721,000 gallons.  The pumped-to-distribution system volume for November 2022 was 17,754,000 gallons; an increase of 3,033,000 gallons or 20.6% from October 2022 to November 2022.  Meter readings and bills were sent at the same time as the South Water System.  There were no new taps for the month of November 2022.  The unaccounted-for water volume for the month of November 2022 was 2.45%.  At the Rabun County Water Reclamation Facility and Collection System, regular preventive maintenance on motors and machinery continues.”  In addition, fire hydrant maintenance and valve exercising are ongoing system-wide.
