RCWSA hears General Manager’s Report for March 2024

This week, the Rabun County Water and Sewer Authority (RCWSA) heard the March 2024 report from General Manager Brendan Thompson.  “Our March 2024 ending balance on the RCWSA Operating Bank Account is $669,410.26. March 2024 Water System Total Billings: $ 247,944.78. March 2024 Wastewater System Total Billings: $ 192,369.54. March 2024 Water and Wastewater Total Billings: $ 440,314.32. For the South Water System, Lake Rabun WTP pumped to the distribution system volume for February 2024 was 26,502,000 gallons. Pumped to distribution system volume for March 2024 was 26,174,000 gallons; a decrease of 328,000 gallons or -1.2% from February 2024 to March 2024. Customers’ March 2024 meter readings were done March 26, 2024. Bills were sent out April 3, 2024. One new connection for the month of March 2024. Unaccounted for water volume for the month of March 2024 was 47.04%. For the North Water System, Little Tennessee WTP pumped to the distribution system for February 2024 was 22,122,000 gallons. Pumped to distribution system volume for March 2024 was 19,518,000 gallons; a decrease of 2,604,000 gallons or -11.8% from February 2024 to March 2024. Please note that water from LTWTP was brought to the Mountain City’s Distribution System and that Multitrade has shut down operations permanently. Meter Reading and Bills sent; same times as the South Water System. No new connections for the month of March 2024. Unaccounted for water volume for the month of March 2024 was 73.73%. Total Water System Unaccounted-For volume percentage for the month of March 2024 was 58.44%. At the Rabun County Water Reclamation Facilities and Collection Systems, regular preventive maintenance on motors and machinery continues. We are also constructing a Distribution and Collections Storage Facility at the Stekoa Creek WRF.” In addition, fire hydrant maintenance and valve exercising is ongoing system-wide.
