RCWSA gets update on New Building and elects Officers

If you drive by Yorkhouse Road you will see construction underway on a new office and shop building for the Rabun County Water and Sewer Authority (RCWSA).  An update was given to the Authority at their meeting Tuesday morning, explains Brendan Thompson, General Manager of the Rabun County Water and Sewer Authority.  “This is an office and shop building that the Authority will use as a retail area, 1,800 square foot for that and then 3,000 square foot for a shop area with a total of 4,800 square feet.  We pored the slab over a month ago and began the steel work on Monday. We are probably looking at 10-12 days to get the steel work done and then probably do the rest of the buildout over the next six months.  We are looking to be able to move in hopefully by the first of the year.”  The new building, at 1650 Yorkhouse Road, sits on the same property as the Wastewater Plant.  At their monthly meeting, the Rabun County Water and Sewer Authority also elected new officers, tells Thompson.  “The Authority held elections at our regular monthly meeting. The chairman elected was Sam Beck, the vice chair was Greg Peters, the secretary was Brett Cohee, and the treasurer was Jerry Krivsky.”  All four officers were re-elected unanimously.
